Responsible for sample collection and processing for histology, biochemical and gene expression analyses.
Process for immunohistochemistry and confocal imaging.
Process tissues and perform Western blotting and quantitative PCR. Develop new protocols as necessary, make arrangements to collaborate with appropriate faculty and staff to accomplish task.
Isolate cells from bone marrow, intestinal tissues and perform cell sorting or cytometric analyses
Culture cells in vitro and perform gene introduction using transfection or virus transduction, perform Western blotting, quantitative PCR or Northern blotting.
Make DNA vectors to achieve gene over-expression, silencing or mutation to perturb gene expression in vitro and in vivo
Complete and accurate documentation concerning the preparation methods, supplies and instruments, modifications of protocols.
Summarizes data periodically for analysis, in the forms of tables, graphs, photographs, and/or illustrations. Present research findings at national and international meetings and write manuscripts.
Attends lectures, conferences, workshops and visit other laboratories; teaches and assists trainees (graduate students and post-doctoral fellows) in routine biochemical analyses, data management and the preparation of appropriate reports, summaries and manuscripts.
