Director of Mental Health\Psychiatric Nursing

Rush University Medical Center presents a dynamic opportunity for an experienced nursing leader to bring your unique talents to the role of Director of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing. Reporting to our Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, you will assume the authority and responsibility for establishing and maintaining excellence in nursing practice. In conjunction with other departmental leaders, you will facilitate an environment of professional collegiality and continuous quality improvement while supporting the development of strategic plans.

Qualifications:

• Current IL RN license

• Masters Degree required; MSN or Doctorate in Nursing preferred. Masters other than Nursing considered with BSN

• Substantial clinical expertise in Psychiatric issues and disorders

• At least 5 years progressive management experience

• Strategic focus and expert communication skills

• Business acumen and service line development

• Solid understanding of legislative and regulatory challenges associated with mental health.
