Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Position Responsibilities:

Our clinical specialist pharmacists round daily with multidisciplinary medical teams, perform point of care order verification, coordinate medication treatment plans, educate patients, assist with discharge planning, act as preceptors to our residents and students, and lecture in the medical school and affiliated colleges of pharmacy. Our critical care division includes opportunities in our four critical care units, namely surgical, cardiac, medical, and neuroscience, the emergency department, and the operating room satellite pharmacies. Rush provides clinical specialist pharmacy services during first and second shift. A resident night call program is utilized to provide clinical services on third shift. Our clinical specialist pharmacists rotate first and second shifts and work every fourth weekend.

Position Qualifications Include:

  • PGY2 residency in critical care, or equivalent critical care experience.

  • Illinois Pharmacy license (or license eligible)

  • PharmD degree

  • Ability to rotate first and second shifts and work every fourth weekend
