PATIENT ACCESS COORDINATOR (Admitting)
SCHEDULE: 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
In the Access Unit, the Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for collecting and confirming complete patient demographic, employer, financial, insurance, subscriber and case-specific information. The incumbent must obtain accurate and prompt insurance information, identify significant patient financial liabilities and refer all patients to a Financial Counselor as needed. The Patient Access Coordinator accepts payments and accurately completes a receipt for payments when needed.
A minimum of one-year patient registration experience in a hospital, medical office, or healthcare insurance environment is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, computer and word processing is required. The ability to type 40 wpm and a strong working knowledge of healthcare insurance is strongly preferred.
The Patient Access Coordinator must have excellent customer service skills and be available to work rotating weekends and holidays.
