RESEARCH TECH 2 Anatomy
The Research Tech 2 will provide technical support for all aspects of projects investigating tissue repair and regeneration in bone. Under limited supervision of Research Assistant or Principal Investigator, performs technical or laboratory procedures at high level of technical proficiency, and participates in development of research protocol.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs primarily routine procedures in the cell culture, biochemical assays, molecular biology and histology techniques according to established protocols.
Understands and maintains good laboratory practices and confidentiality in the conduct of laboratory and research studies. Participates in protocol development.
Assists in animal surgery. Possess understanding of experimental surgery procedure including the identification and function of instruments, and is able to perform procedure under aseptic technique. Orders supplies in anticipation of needs.
Performs animal necropsy procedures according to protocol. Harvests animal tissues.
Maintains current inventories of laboratory equipment and consumables. Orders general laboratory supplies in anticipation of needs.
Observes established safety procedures in handling chemical, biochemical radiological material. Maintains current inventories of safety documents.

Qualifications:

B.S. degree with laboratory course work. 2-years research laboratory experience or other equivalent laboratory experience. Laboratory animal handling experience highly desirable. Intermediate level computer skills required.
