~POLYSOMNOGRAPH TECH 3 Peds (NIGHT SHIFT)
This is a night shift position (7:00 - 8:00 PM to 7:00- 8:00 AM.) Three 12 hour shifts and 4 additional hours during the week.
The person in this position performs routine polysomnographic testing and provides technical analysis of these tests. May also perform ventilator assessments performed during polysomnography and awake multichannel recording if certified in respiratory therapy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine polysomnograms in an accurate and timely manner.
Display familiarity with advanced polysomnographic testing procedures.
Maintains the artificial airway and makes recommendations to the medical director on appropriate ventilator or non-invasive ventilation parameters to achieve adequate oxygenation and ventilation.
Institutes oxygen support when necessary.
Perform technical analysis (scoring) of polysomnograms both by manual analysis.
Assists supervisor in training staff as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required:
Certification as a registered polysomnographic technologist is required. Must have extensive experience monitoring pediatric sleep patients.
Preferred:
Credentialed as a respiratory therapist with Illinois licensure and at least 2 years of pediatric and/or neonatal RT experience is preferred.
Ability to apply patient monitoring sensor devices.
