CLINICAL NURSE COORDINATOR ORTHOPEDICS
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush is a national leader in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with orthopedic conditions. Common procedures include total joint replacement, general orthopedic surgery that includes fractures and oncological procedures with limb salvaging and spinal surgeries. Telemetry monitoring also available. 9 South Atrium is a 37 bed unit and a pilot for many innovations in nursing, including care of patients who have had minimally invasive hip surgery.
As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator you will be able to combine your clinical expertise and management skills in the daily activities of the unit. You will manage personnel assigned to the unit; collaborate with other health team members to provide coordinated, safe and compassionate care for patients. With your own patient responsibilities 3 times per week, you will also monitor the plan, delivery, and outcomes of care for patients on the unit, direct clinical nursing activities, and function as an expert clinical practitioner.
Education/Special Skills Required: 1.Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required. 2. Baccalaureate degree in nursing or other major is required. 3. Progressive experience in clinical area. 4. Ability to work in complex clinical or administrative systems or programs. 5. Communication skill is required in order to lead, teach and persuade others. 6. Interact effectively with others in difficult situations. 7. Basic commuter skills required 8. Must have National Certification.
