RN Unit Director Operating Room

Rush, a three-time consecutive Magnet™ medical center, is seeking a dynamic Nursing Leader for our established OR/ Perioperative department who can bring their expertise and enthusiasm to lead a team of nurses committed to exceptional excellence for the patients we serve.

RN Unit Director - Operating Room

Position Highlights:

  • Excellent opportunity to provide nursing leadership for the 37 bed Operating Room with the latest in innovative technology in our new Tower facility

  • RUMC’s interventional platform is an advanced surgery and treatment center – one of the first of this scale in the country – provides multidisciplinary care on a three-floor platform that promotes clinical excellence, staff collaboration and patient convenience

  • Surgeries across all major services including organ transplant, pediatric and adult cardiac surgery and major robotic procedures

  • Direct a team of RNs of the future; Deliver, monitor and evaluate the clinical and operational aspects of the department while maximizing fiscal management

  • Supportive team of nursing leaders in collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists committed to providing direction for an experienced outcome-driven staff

Position Qualifications Include:

  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure.

  • Nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher. Graduate degree required.

  • National Nursing Certification required; CNOR preferred.

  • In addition to a strong clinical background in OR nursing, the position requires progressive management experience, preferably in OR/Perioperative.
