Journeyman A BMERS

JOURNEYMAN- BMERS ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN

2nd Shift - 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

General Summary: The Electronic Technician must posess and actively apply the knowledge of electronic and electric circuit operations. Is proficient in problem solving skills and is capable of independently performing troubleshooting functions regarding maintenance, repair, and construction. The Electronic Technician exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains and repairs CCTV Systems, overhead paging systems, portable food service equipment, imprinting equipment, small appliances, various lab equipment, two-way radio equipment, TV, VCR, and patient beds.

2. Maintain and repairs nurse call equipment, which includes pocket pagers, infrared locating systems, and integration to patient beds.

3. Maintains and repairs a card access system, which includes card readers, door switches, and magnetic locks.

4. Install an overhead paging system, which includes speakers, wire, and amplifiers.

5. Install a CCTV system, which includes security cameras, cabling, VCR/DVR, and associated equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The Electronic Technician Grade 1 must meet or exceed the requirements as described below:

Knowledge: High School diploma or GED

Must have completed a 4 year apprenticeship program and/or have equal experience.

Skills: Able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and instructions as necessary to complete all work assignments.

Has a working knowledge of the federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations applicable to this trade.

Abilities: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in performance of a job assignment as well as possess the physical strength and dexterity to effectively perform work assignments

Tools: Owns a complete set of hand tools necessary for the trade.
