IS Project Leader Epic Ambulatory

Job Location: Chicago, IL

General Summary:

The Project Lead for the EpicCare Ambulatory application supervises activities supporting the analysis, design, development and maintenance of this Epic module. Under moderate supervision, the Project Lead heads a team of analysts and is responsible for assigning and monitoring their work. The Project Lead will maintain project plans, task and issues lists, and status reports as necessary. Works with the user community to develop processes, document workflows, work with analysts to determine system specifications, ensures communication and training, and maintains close relationships with the user community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads team of analysts supporting the EpicCare Ambulatory application.

  • Able to leads medium sized teams for medium duration projects (~up to 8 months).

  • Maintains project plans, task list, issues list and status reports

  • Facilitates process and workflow discussions

  • Applies project planning and project management methodologies

  • Understands overall IT business functions and functions of our customers

  • Tracks issues and problems through to their completion

  • Assists with system testing and execution.

  • Facilitates development of policies and procedures

  • Facilitates and prepares education materials

  • Provides on-site user support during implementations

  • Follows Change Management processes.

  • Handles multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Learns and understands user department practices and procedures

  • Takes on-call for support at scheduled times

Qualifications

  • Healthcare experience required.

  • Experience with the EpicCare Ambulatory module; certification preferred but not required

  • Has more than 3 years of application system implementation or support experience; 5 years or more typically preferred

  • BS/BA degree in health care, computer science, business or related field required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Cooperates and works effectively with others
