*Full Time-Straight Night Shift position (3-12's)**
The Medical Intensive Care Unit is a fully functioning 21 bed unit which includes the care of intensive and intermediate care patients. This model enhances not only quality outcomes but the patient experience as it pertains to the Medical Intensive Care patients. The inclusion of intermediate care patients into the MICU embraces our guiding principle of “Right patient in the right bed at the right time, right away.” Patients requiring critical care management or intermediate care may be admitted to any one of the 21 beds in the MICU. The patients range from 18 years of age to the geriatric population.
Common diagnosis include: sepsis, shock, hemodynamic instability or the potential for hemodynamic instability, acute respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, COPD exacerbation, liver failure, severe pancreatitis, GI Bleed, renal failure, multisystem organ failure status post arrest, acute oncological complications, obstetrical emergencies (ante and post partum). The Care Delivery Model is Nurse/PCT ratio is 90% Registered Nurse and 10% Patient Care Technicians.
Seeking a candidate with current IL RN license as well as 2-4 years recent clinical intensive care nursing experience.Bachelors degree required. National Nursing Certification preferred and Charge experience.
